How is My Home Life supporting care homes?

My Home Life wants to celebrate and build upon the good practice that already exists in care homes and value a sector that does not always get the recognition it deserves.

Over the next few years we will be sharing best practice, developing resources and linking with initiatives to support your work.

First of all well done; My home life is a brilliant initiative which is making a real difference. I hear good reports from Plymouth and Wiltshire.
I normally work for CQC (developed SOFI with Dawn Brooker) but am on secondment to DH implementing the dementia strategy. I have met Tom in the past.
We are introducing a dementia quality mark in the SW and I want to ensure it is aligned to MHL. Martin Green suggested I make contact with Professor Julienne Meyer to talk it through.

If I could link up with someone on the programme that would be much appreciated.

    Best wishes. David.

Brilliant – this seems to be one of the intended possible outputs to the influence and effectiveness of My Home Life.

In Wales our steering group involves inspection and regulatory bodies, senior civil servants, local government representatives as well as academic institutions, the care homes’ managers, owners and practitioners and older people as carers and residents. All are so supportive and interested in the work of My Home Life Wales.
Having been involved in the work in care homes since 1990 I am so excited and encouraged by all these conversations.
    Thank you,

    Lorraine Morgan
